Hi,

I'm new in these groups and also with bareos.

We use Bareos to backup the userhomes and some servers.
After my initial test and backups i get access to the storage space for
the "long term" run.

Here my problem or my misunderstanding starts:
At the moment I have a backup of all the data on a local array and it
works as expected.
My idea was now to rsync all the files to the new mounted (nfs) dir and
then change the storage location in the bareos-sd daemon.

Unfortunally this does not work and i do not understand why.
I get a messages like this:
Error: stored/dev.cc:160 Unable to stat device
/mnt/backup-storage/backupdata/storage: ERR=Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht
gefunden (file or dir not found)

I checked the path multiple times it is correct:
[root@xxxxxx storage]# pwd
/mnt/backup-storage/backupdata/storage

I also have not selinux warnings in the logs and the rights on the dirs
are also correct compared to the local backup dir.
The bareos user can change into the dir and it is also possible to
create files so I think I have not right problems.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong or where my problem of understanding is?

Best

Silvio

With your rsync command, try setting a different temp directory: rsync --temp-dir=/path/with/write/permissions
