Hello everyone, we noticed that the snapshot of our vm keeps getting bigger after each full backup. The strange part is, that there isn't any kind of data traffic going on so the size should stay the same. example:

Name            Backup type     Status                  Date                              Date                    size
    VM-Name     |      F              |    T         | 2020-03-22 23:20:52 | 2020-03-22 23:34:22 | 12096108
    VM-Name     |      F              |    T         | 2020-03-29 23:24:57 | 2020-03-29 23:41:50 | 14998316

Does anybody know what the reason could be, because we cannot figure it out on our own.

kind regards

Hi,

what kind of oVirt storage is used? block-storage (like iSCSI or FC), or File-Storage (NFS etc.) ?

I've observed this on block-storage, space does not get release there after deleting the snapshot.

Hi,

we are using virtIO SCSI as the hard disk Interface. How can we get around this issue? May cutting the block-storage somehow could solve the problem? All our VM´s are configured that way so the workload is very high, if we chose to change all Interfaces to IDE.

kind regards
