Hi Everyone!
Patrick Edwards, the President of our sister frozen pensions
organisation, BPiA, has managed to set up another frozen pensions
presentation in the UK Houses of Parliament and is asking that you
alert your UK MP about it. Patrick writes:
I am in London on holiday but will be making a presentation in Parliament in Westminster on the issue of frozen pensions on 2nd July 2025.
It has been difficult to find an available room in Parliament, and one has suddenly become available at short notice.
Could you please write to your UK MP urging him or her to attend this event. A template for your letter available by clicking on http://bpia.org.au/wp-content/uploads/Letter-fto-UK-MPs-re-Drop-In-2025-07-02.docx

Dear [MP Name],
Overseas constituents and Frozen Pensions event, Wednesday 2nd July
I am a British citizen and overseas constituent of [constituency] and I currently live in Australia.
I ask you to please spare a few short moments to attend a parliamentary ‘drop-in’ event on Wednesday 2nd July just after PMQs, to learn about how UK citizens like me are affected by the ‘frozen pensions’ policy.
Patrick Edwards from the End Frozen Pensions campaign will be travelling to Westminster from Australia to brief MPs on the numbers of overseas voters in each constituency - many of whom are British pensioners living abroad who face severe financial and emotional hardship as a result of this outdated policy.
To confirm your attendance or for more information on location and timing, please contact camp...@endfrozenpensions.org.
The frozen pensions policy is unfair discrimination that sees over 430,000 British pensioners living overseas affected, while over 600,000 British pensioners living overseas are unaffected. What distinguishes those discriminated against from those not discriminated against is unjustifiable and untidy incomplete application of the principles set out in the original plan for the National Insurance scheme.
Anne Puckridge, a British 100-year-old World War Two veteran who, like me, receives a fraction of her full UK state pension simply because she moved to Canada in retirement to be near her family.
Mr Edwards will also be sharing the diplomatic significance of this issue in light of the recent Australian federal election. At the event, he will present a letter being supported by MPs across the UK, Australia, and Canada, urging the UK Government to finally take action to remedy and finally end this unfair discrimination.
I hope you will consider the situation of people like me and many others who, despite paying into the UK system, are penalised simply because we live in the wrong country. This policy could be resolved easily and affordably. For those affected, it would make a world of difference. If you could spare even a few minutes to attend this event, it would mean so much.
To RSVP, please contact camp...@endfrozenpensions.org
Kind regards,
[Your Name]
