Dear Shri Anand Raoji,
This is actually a positive and significant sign. My understanding is, in Supreme Court practice, when a matter is given a specific time slot—such as 3:00 p.m.—it will definitely be taken up on that day at that time, regardless of how many other matters are listed.
The case is high on the Court's radar, has been given a guaranteed afternoon slot, and will definitely be called on 6th May — but for procedural purposes only, not for final arguments on merits. What happens at that hearing — what directions the Court gives, whether it fixes a fresh final hearing date, whether it presses IBA on the cost analysis — will determine the next stage of the case.
The dedicated time slot is reassuring. It means the matter will not be lost in the crowd tomorrow. 🙏
With Regards,
Sanjay J.
