AICPIN(IW) 2016=100 FOR JUNE’25 -1 SLAB LESS

Dear Friends,

Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. Of India released the AICPIN(IW) 2016=100 for the month of June’25  today, which stood at 145.0 points with increase  of 1 point  while compared to May’’25 figure, as furnished here under:

2016=100

April’25             9433.49                         143.5

May’25               9466.36.                        144.0

June’25              9532.10.                         145.0

Thus the average index for the last quarter comes to 9477 points.

Compared to last half year there is a reduction of 1 slab in DR payable to pensioners retired up to 31.10.2022.

Detailed chart on DR payable to different segments of pensioners is furnished separately  for information.

21.13 % Points 21.13 (instead of 21.14)

For the last 12 years for which record is available with me, it is for the first time that there is a decrease in DA in the month of August, although by 1 slab only!

Because we are accustomed to getting Dearness relief increase every half year, the decrease is some what not welcome as practically there appears no decrease in essential items prices.

But the method of calculation

 of price index needs some change

Sir,

During emergency period, there was no pension scheme for the bankers. DA for the working staff reduced several times, as the DA slabs undergo changes every quarter. For retirees, it changes in a half-year basis. Therefore, reduction in DA slabs for pensioners is a very rare event.

While increase or decrease in DA index is not in our hands UFBU has authority to demand merger of DA which will protect existing DA. IBA  twice suggested UFBU to submit a proposal in this regard. UFBU seems not interested.

How long the discrepancy in calculation of DA in banking Industry especially the Bank retirees -will continue?  Calculation of DA of Bank retirees should be at uniform rate on the basis of All India consumers Price index 2016=100 after merge ol 8088 point on

First, the conversion factor of price index was 4.93. Then it was reduced to 4.63. There was not much difference, so pensioners did not mind. But the present Government reduced it to 2.88 !

It drastically reduced our DA. It is manipulation by the Government !
