Out sourcing is permanent future in the operations of not only banking industry in all most all public sector units.
The so called  recruitment is automatically stands to be slowly withdrawn.
Though the demand for recruitment is valid the strike actions will not stall ouy sourcing of banks permanent jobs.
The government policy is dismantling public sector and handling over to private sector by privatisation.
It is a futile attempt under present conditions. Earlier we went on strike actions demanding nationalisation of private sector. Now the situation is we have to fight for stopping outsourcing and demanding recruitment.
Privatising public sector will be the order of the day like Air India etc.

Dear All,
The purpose of a strike is to bring to the notice of Government the just demands of workers.
This can be achieved by protesting, like wearing black bands,go slow.no late sitting etc.
The other way is to paralyse the industry which is achieved by strike
throughout industry.
This Bank wise strike does not serve any purpose other thanCHV remaining in good books of IBA.
Thanks,
Raghu Raj Bhargava

Nothing but political.  Maybe UFBU is angry with the Govt for finishing BPS early and making UFBU lose levy.

I am retired from service 22 years back. I participated in strikes many times for the reasons given in the circular. The unions are unable to solve the issues for the past 25 years. Unions in bank are waste. It is only an eye wash to the employees in service. It is just like pension updation.

Why so many days for different banks?
If at all they want to go on strike let they do it all india with all banks at the same time for few days.
Just a jimmik and jumla by CHV.

AIBEA a communist organization, is imposing its  agenda on 5 lakh Bank employees and forcing them to join strike without any reason. Recruitment is only a facade. Real motive is to ensure anti-government agitation till general elections to manipulate public sentiments against the govt  as per the dictates of political party.
AIBEA has written many letters earlier to IBA to start BPS negotiations.  Now the govt has  directed that BPS should be completed within Dec 1st. IBA also  holding, meetings twice in a month to meet the deadline.
So the focus of UFBU must be to ensure satisfactory wage settlement within Dec end and also ensure Updation which is pending for decades.
UFBUin its COD demanded

Updation of Pension in line of Central Govt. and the Principle of One Rank One

Pension.

But in reality UFBU is changing its stand on Updation like  Chameleons. In one meeting they said we have demanded updation for pre 2002 retirees, then merger of DA for all, then Updation for all and again merger@8088 points. UFBU convenor said a few months back "we have asked  IBA to provide cost details of Updation on BPS settlement Basis  and IBA agreed and after getting details we will discuss the issue with IBA." Now after 4 months he is again reporting IBA said cost implications without getting cost data from IBA.
Thousand lies. One Rank one pension demand in COD now diluted to improvement in Pension. In the next meeting they may say it will be considered as a mercy. After 2015 record note 100% Issue was abandoned by UFBU. Pension to resignees was never on their agenda. But Upcoming elections or whatever it may be DFS is taking decisions on pensioners issues and asking UFBU to sign minutes.
It is  good that due to DFS pressure IBA is now considering updation and UFBU has no clarity, formula to get better terms and conditions. We may get some scheme as decided by DFS and IBA.

Sri Soma sekara is right.  If the BPS is completed as directed by the central government, it will be great loss for the unions in terms of bi partite levy.  Instead of 3 or 4 % on 36 months arrears it will be 3 or 4% on 3 months arrears. Any sensible corporate entity cannot allow this.  So strikes and other tools to dislocate the  BPS is a necessity for the Unions to ensure that their coffers are adequately enriched.
In case they are forced to sign a settlement at the earliest, it will not be a surprise if the IBA - UFBU combine sign a settlement for advance payment of salary hike for the next 36 months recoverable in future so that union levy collection is maintained.
Long live traders unionism

AIBEA withdraw strike

On our strike notice today there was conciliation meeting before CLC in Delhi. After discussions managements agreed to maintain status quo on outsourcing. CLC advised that ID act and settlements should not be violated by banks. On recruitment it was agreed that manpower policy will be discussed at IBA level. Aibea agreed to defer the bankwise and statewise strikes and continue the discussions. Conciliation adjourned to 12th Jan. Strike on 19 and 20 Jan stands. Circular follows. -Chv gen secretary #AIBEA
