Dear friends,

Negotiations are due for revision of exgratia to Bank pensioners during April, 2026.

Since the Singla case is likely to be heard in May,2026, it is better if UFBU commences negotiations with IBA and avhieve reasonable hike.

Regards.

Asper settlement, the payment of monthly Ex gratia is only a one time measure for period commencing from November, 2022 to October 2027(current BPS period) to pensioners /family pensioners of PSBs/SBI to retirees up to 31.10.22.

Though it was agreed  that the next 'review'
of the ex-gratia amount shall be undertaken in April 2024 and thereafter shall be subject to review annually and as mutually agreed between the IBA and the
Unions/Associations.However though review was found made no 'revision' in amount was made since introduction!

Even on arriving exgratia amount based on matrix provided on the basis of pension for  oct 2022 pre Nov 2002 pensioners are still receving the amount based on old tappered rate of DR instead of 100% even notionally.

M.C. Singla case Hearing before Hon. SCI not possible on 09-04-2026.                    Reason :                                                                                                                                        Hon.  SCI has formed one 9 Judges Constitutional Bench to hear on an urgent basis the SABARIMALA case from 07-04-2026 to 22-04-2026.  Our Hon. Judge Vikram Nath (2nd in seniority - he is next CJI) is also part of that constitution bench. Hence it seems that our M.C.  Singla case will  not be taken up for hearing on 09-04-2026  and it will be heard only in the month of May 2026.

The above information received from another retirees group.

Dear Shri Mohan ji,

Thanks for the contents of the last para of your letter. UFBU'S perceived disinclination to vigorously pursue and clinch the updation issue is quite understandable. But not their failure to keep their own assurance given as far back as in April 2024 to remove the anomaly which is a very minor issue.
In fact, as a goodwill gesture,
the banks themselves can take up the matter with IBA and set right the matter. However, they are also not interested.
This kind of apathy towards the senior most group of pensioners is deplorable, to say the least. Is the heavy loss suffered for 18 years due to tapered DA not enough?
