News is flowing that 100% DA is approved by FM and will be effective from October pension.

If the news is true, we will have to thank the benevolence of the present finance minister without whom it would not have seen the light of the day. Having lost all legal recourse the govt could have closed the door. But for her initiative, this would not have materialised. There may be many fathers for the success, but facts remain the same.

At this juncture our thoughts are with those who for the benefit till their last breath, but left the world leaving us to enjoy the same. Our homage to those souls!

At last the retirees like me got justice after waiting a long 18 years. Let us thank all those people who worked and fought relentlessly  for this issue. Even after a negative verdict from SC, we got justice is a great incident. Let us hope , pension updation for all will be a reality soon.

The SBI retirees association has addressed a letter to IBA requesting rectifying anomalies before implementing 100% DA.
Letter is attached.
********************************
The points raised by SBI retiree assn is correct and we hope that IBA will rectify anomaly without pushing pensioners to courts to get justice.
But we do not think UFBU has any role in this achievement.  This is purely because of the recommendation of the committee appointed by DFS. UFBU did not even insist on the benefit from a few months backdate. UFBU only signs agreements but never bothered about anomalies.

Well said. Based on the confidence built up we hope our Hon FM would complete the updation task  like a mother taking care of the child. She has forgiven the harsh comments & criticism of all of us by taking it in her strides.

May God bless her .

Dear Shri Somashekara,

It is not because of recommendation of DFS, but it is because of UFBU.  Nowhere, neither in the Government nor in the RBI, there is no benefit to those who were already getting 100% DA.  It is for the first time, they are also getting some benefit.

Thanks, a Million.

With regards,

UFBU and Two Retiree organizations have nothing to boast regarding 100% DA sanction.
1. This anomaly was created by UFBU itself.
2. Since 2005 UFBU did nothing to get the issue resolved and almost abandoned it during the last 5 years or so. Only after the appointment of the committee sensing that the issue may be resolved UFBU did raise the issue with IBA to take credit later on.
3. Benefit is from prospective date only and thousands of pensioners have left this world without benefit.
4. For existing pensioners the monetary loss is anything between  1Lakh to 8 lakhs depending upon their pension basic.
6. Credit should go to SBI staff federation who fought the case for 13 years and brought it to logical end and also our Hon.FM who is sympathetic to Bank pensioners.

Few Bank Pensioners, because of their very strong and deep bond with the UFBU leadership, are spreading a lie that
100 % DA has become a reality because of UFBU only. Actually it is not 'because of UFBU '  but  really ' inspite of UFBU'.
After clandestinely ditching the pensioners' interest in toto in 1995 pension scheme, the UFBU did not evince any interest
at all in the pensioners'  issues. It was mainly because of the reason that UFBU and IBA were parties to the worst possible pension
and Family Pension scheme. Because of this clandestine link the UFBU has been lacking a face to take up the Pensioners' issues with
the IBA.. UFBU has another fear even to perfunctorily ask the IBA to look into the Pensioners' demands as the IBA in turn may ask the
UFBU to accept a reduced Salary Revision Percentage , instead of the usual 15%. .Hence either in the matter of FPR @ 30 % flat  which
was implemented unilaterally by the Govt. in 2021  or  this 100% DA implementation brought in by the Govt. through the IBA the UFBU
was just a passive signatory. ( In these Pensioners' issues the The UFBU is too glad to be at the beck and call of the IBA  -  Don't touch my
15 % wage bill increase and LEVY attitude) .
In the 100% DA issue before the Supreme Court how the UFBU/AiBEA sabotaged the case is a well known fact known to all. I give below
the latest whatsapp communication sent by Shri. D.S. Murthy , Hyderabad. :-

==============================================================================================
Hence the FPR  @ 30% - implementation in 2021  and the present 100 % DA to pre Nov 2002 pensioners  are only due to the
unilateral actions by the Benevolent , Welfare Government of Shri Narendra Modi through DFS and IBA. Actually the UFBU,
as stated by Shri. D.S.Murthy ,  effectively played a spoiler in the SC case after we won the case/s in the High Court/s. Now attempts are
made to portray the Villain as a Hero.

You forgot to mention the name of IBA who fought along with UFBU relentlessly in and outside the courtroom to achieve this long outstanding demand of the deprived pensiones. You have rightly said that the government has no role in this matter.

Everything is a calculated strategy By IBA/DFS in collaboration with UFBU. WP in Delhi High Court is for 100% DA with retrospective effect. And Updation.
But IBA/DFS  obtained consent of the unions for 100% DA from prospective date. And approval was also given one day before the scheduled court hearing on 06.10.23, there by sealing process. Now DFS can argue in court that Unions have consented for benefit from prospective date. But we are satisfied that at least we got the benefit.
We have to wait till 07.11.2023 to know the fate of updation. Mr,Singhla case in SC is also likely to be adjourned.

Dear Sri Somashekara ji,

It is also possible that the Delhi High Court might even say that it won't interfere with the final verdict given by Supreme Court in 2018 upholding the denial of 100% DA to pre Nov2002 retirees, by adjudicating on the matter. Is it not?
So, in a way, it is good that an out of Court agreement was reached between UFBU and IBA although with no arrears.

Sir,
You have rightly averred that the 100% DA case has been resolved at last and the United Forum has no
active role in this achievement.
The worst part is that they agreed to the Bi-partite 20 years ago in which this anomaly was allowed
to creep in ,obviously with their tacit support, thus causing colossal financial loss
to the pre-Nov.2002 retirees.besides tremendous mental agony.

UFBU leaders were jealous of SVRS retirees walking away with Golden handshake doing nothing  for five long years. So they wanted to teach a lesson to these Pension optees, whereas most of the leaders were only PF optees and with no chance of Pension option.
Their jealousy and grudge reflected in denying 100percent DA neutralization  to the pre Nov 2002 retirees including  SVRS retirees.
Unfortunately  the normal Pre Nov 2002 retirees  were also punished  even though  they didn't get any extra lumpsum like SVRS retirees. This is an open secret known to all bank employees.
The same leaders who canvassed for PF option.in 1994,agreed to have Pension option by paying a huge amount to Banks in return.
God only knows the wisdom of the union leaders.

With regards,
P Bhaskara Sarma.

100% DA neutralisation was agreed as per 8th Bipartite Settlement. But two months after the signing of the Settlement, IBA unilaterally denied this benefit by an administrative letter to the retirees who retired on or before 01.11.2002. UFBU remained silent. I stand to correction If I am wrong.

I think relations between UFBU and Retirees are at their lowest level.  Many pensioners are not satisfied and disgusted with UFBU for not resolving issues for years together. Inconsistency in taking up issues with IBA, asking IBA to furnish details of Pensioners every two years without following it up,claiming huge pension cost without disclosing details of cost, repeatedly signing agreements depriving benefits to a section of pensioners, not demanding subsidy from Banks for Insurance premium, not monitoring proper implementation of agreements already signed etc. There are plenty of other problems.
UFBU may have its own genuine reasons for these.
Misunderstandings may be cleared by keeping BPS transparent and UFBU leaders may interact with pensioners online at frequent intervals to clear misunderstandings. As IBA does not come under RTI Act onus is on UFBU to explain reasons for their actions.
When Banks are taking stand that Agreement dated 1993 and Small committee meeting are only preliminary discussions not agreements, it is important that UFBU come out and make its stand clear.
Continuous silence on the part of UFBU and occasionally blaming pensioners is not helping to  improve healthy relationship between Union leaders and Retirees.
