Satyanarayana Rao,I totally agree with your analysis of Shri Vasant Vankudre case every body is fade up with approch of UFBU towards pensioners Shri Vankudre is also not satisfied and filed criminal case against IBA, and Canara Bank.

Lok Sabha elections are likely to be announced any time after 15.03.2024 and the UFBU are sticking to old demand of 5 days banking which the Govt. appears to be dithering. UFBU hard stance may not fructfy the 12th BPS and hence will be postponed to next few months. Sufferers  'ONLY SENIORS' !!!

No ex-gratia shall be coming till then and we may not know even the formula and the quantum. Govt. Has not bent before the demands of farmers. UFBU Cadre do not enjoy the power of farmers. It is in the fitness of things that they should sign the BPS and continue their struggle. We support UFBU and our working brethren  with their demand of 5 days a week working.

Hope better sense prevails in UFBU people.

                       I retired about 17 years ago as AGM of Central Bank of India . Even as clerk I worked upto 2 am of next day during closing. Whenever requested by BM or Acctt. I worked in bank on Sundays also. Except one branch where I worked for about nine months as CM, I could never leave the branch before 7 pm. There were occasions when I sat in the office throughout night, working for twenty hours at a stretch. As AGM there was not even a single Sunday that I spent at home.I spent all Sundays in the office. Today I am surprised why all the unions and working staff are dying for 5 day week ? For them 5 day week is more important than pension updation of the retirees. We are so helpless that we can not do anything !

Possibility of Ex gratia and resolution of updation through court are not happening in near future, AIBEA /AIBOC leaders have no concern for senior pensioners and are busy with their personal agenda.

SC will be closed for summer vacation from May 20 and will reopen on July 8th, Mr.Singhla case verdict will not come before May 20 as hearings are being adjourned.

As Union leaders are busy solving national issues they are not in a hurry to sign 12th BPS. MOU has no value and if the new FM takes charge in June there may be some more delay. SC worries about the low pension of their retired  judges, but there is nobody to care for Bank pensioners.

New PENSION scheme is introduced by our great  union leaders to pensioners. The scheme is similar to Railway ticket reservation (RAC). Our pension will be revised once in a year subject to. Revision Against Casualties. I. e revision depends upon the number of pensioners death. A very good idea by 9 UNIONS.

Syndicate Bank made a review on the judgement of including EOL in calculation of qualifying and the divisional bench observed as follows

Further, it is observed that the learned Single Judge after considering the Pension Regulations held that proviso to Regulation 17 of the Pension Regulations is not in operation on the date the respondent availed extraordinary leave and the review petitioner cannot press into service Regulation 17 of the Pension Regulations to exclude the period of 612 days extraordinary leave availed by the respondent during the year 1986-89

So if the EOL was taken before the pension regulation came into force them EOL can be  included for calculation of qualifying service for pension purposes.
