The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the health coverage to all the senior citizens aged 70 years and above irrespective of income under the flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).

Dear Sir,
We may need a clarification to the point that whether the scheme will cover  persons other than SC/ ST .
As per the Ayushman scheme ,the eligibility is for SC/ST and low income groups below annual income of Rs2.50 L.
Now the income ceiling is removed.

Can it not be linked to our Bank Insurance Scheme such as

1) Premium for first 5 lakhs will be borne by Govt

2) Next 2 Lakhs will be borne by Bank

3) Above that premium tobe borne by us

The servicing should be in a single point.The Company to whom the bank is on the agreement will have to take premium from Govt for the first 5 lakhs and premium for 2 lakhs from bank and service us for our ailment to the extent of insured amount.

Is the 5lakh health insurance available for 70+ including the existing ailments without waiting period.

Is it cash free insurances like our IBA policy.in all hospitals including private hospitals?

How to enroll?

All salient features  I think not known yet? 

If everything thing is known before the renewal date of our existing policyofIBA , we can do away with IBA policy

Govt of India Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme- Free Cashless Hospital treatment for 70 years above Senior Citizens- 

Step by Step process for enrollment :

Log in to https://abha.abdm.gov.in. (If you want to do it thru Mobile App download ABHA App from Google Playstore).

Click on Aadhaar No. and provide Aadhaar No.

You will get an OTP. Enter the OTP and press NEXT.

Give your Aadhaar linked Mobile No. and verify it with OTP.

Give your Email address and verify it. Verification link will be sent to your email. Click the link  received in your email. 

Create your user ID (Minimum 8 character length)

Process over.

Download your ABHA ( Ayushman Bharat Health Account) card.

This is valid for panel of hospitals for treatment upto Rs 5 lacs.

Coverage details/ Terms and Conditions will be communicated shortly.

Dear Sridhar Manyam,

I was telling as Govt has introduced the new scheme Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna ( AB PM-JAY)  where 5 lakhs insurance for senior citizens of 70 years and above, ( the scheme is prepared based on payment of premium by govt to insurance companies, for senior citizens of 70 years  and above), I have told that Govt can bear first 5 lakhs premium in lieu of AB PM-JAY scheme. Hope it clarifies you. That is the way two schemes can be combined and used. otherwise what is the way we bank pensioners, above 70 years old,  can avail that govt scheme and Bank scheme together.

People' fail to understand ,every individual can have N number of paid policies and it has nothing to do with Govt Ayushman scheme for senior citizens aged 70 yrs and above given for free.

Whether govt takes a master policy or pay out of reserve funds is not of concern for insured

Ayushman is not a premium based insurance. If eligible, government will pay the bill. Why it should be confused with our insurance policy. It is not insurance in usual sense. Tax payers pay premium

Dear all,

My mail regarding the Ayushman Bharath scheme for Senior citizens above 70 years is only to mention our requirement. We all know, that we still have not received any procedure for availing the Govt scheme other than downloading the card. We have to see in which hospitals this is eligible, what kind of facility we can have, and whether it will be free for all kinds of admission in a hospital or if any restriction/limit is there for each ailment or not.

Our Bank scheme has rules about which hospitals we can get admitted to, what kind of beds/charges are reimbursable/ how much % we will get reimbursement if we pay, or how much we will get under a cashless system.

I have mentioned that if our bank scheme and this Ayushman Bharat scheme are combined, it will have substantial benefits for senior citizens above70 years, as we will be clear on the procedure and the amount how much will be eligible for us and the total limit will be together for us.

Hope it is clear to all. But combining these two can be done only by discussing with IBA/Govt and getting it. Will any union/association take up this for the benefit of retired bank officials of 70 years and above?
