It seems like that the Nokia 8110 will no longer receive any more updates since the last one is from December 2019.
Now that the last firmware has been made open source, can we make a new OS to extend the Nokia 8110's lifespan?

Hello!

I don't think that the Nokia 8110 will receive any more updates, unless we somehow force Nokia to update it.

I'm currently making a community OS based on Debian, but it is currently experimental and unusable unless you are a developer, and certainly can't make phone calls yet: https://gitlab.com/affenull2345/bananian (current user interface is abandoned, won't fix any non-critical UI bugs since I'm working on a new one)

However, once KaiOS 3.0 becomes more popupar, the demand for updates will probably increase, and even if Nokia doesn't update the 8110, BananaHackers might still port KaiOS 3.0 to the bananaphone.
