Phone model : "Logicom Le Kay 283"

Hi,

After following many tutorials, I was not able to uninstall default apps on my KaisOs phone Logicm Le Kay 283.

I was able to :

- use platform-tools_r31.0.1-windows to "adb devices" and detect my device

- open palemoon and access webIDE

- send apps to my phone through WebIDE

- install apps and launch them on the phone

- do "adb shell" on the phone

BUT, I was NOT able to :

- do " cp /data/local/webapps/webapps.json /sdcard/"

- not able to root the phone and see it from the computer (as soon as rooted, it disapear from the PC)

- I installed wallace 0.05 but was not able to select the option to uninstall defaults apps because I think I lack "busybox" and don't know how to install it.

So, I have tried many things but not able to end up with a solution.

Do you guys have any further advice on how to uninstall default apps on my logicom Le Kay 283 phone ?

Hi,

Okay after a few more tries I have managed to make it work on the Logicom Le Kay 283.

What I did (all the first part of the job is similar to what is showed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvoeRI1hbBc) :

1) go into debug mode on the phone : *#*#33284#*#*

2) from PC, download "platform-tools_r31.0.1-windows"

3) download an old version (28.6.1) of palemoon from here (do not accept updates even if it asks you to do it) : http://archive.palemoon.org/palemoon/28.x/28.6.1/

4) download omnibb installer : https://gitlab.com/suborg/omnibb

5) download wallace toolbox : https://gitlab.com/suborg/wallace-toolbox

6) make sure to unzip/unfold all the above folders (and sometime the first subfolder as well)

7) connect phone to pc

8) open the console and go into your "platform-tools" location. It looks something like "cd C:\Users\name\Desktop\platform-tools_r31.0.1-windows\platform-tools"

9) type "adb devices", it should find 1 device

10) type this " adb forward tcp:6000 localfilesystem:/data/local/debugger-socket"

11) open palemoon, go to WebIDE, and connect to the phone (see youtube video for this, it shows the exact steps)

12) once connected, send OmniBB to the phone

13) send Wallace toolbox to the phone

--- from now on, we don't need the PC anymore ---

14) on the phone, launch OmniBB and install it

15) then open Wallace toolbox and click "RSK: Make all app removable", it will ask to reboot, do it.

16) BOOM. It works, all apps are removable.

The information are scarce on the internet about KaiOS. Thank you bananahacker team, you helped a LOT!

However, your site is not very clear, there are a lot of duplicate content and guides, and it is very hard to read and understand. I think it would be better to have less documentation but more robust one. My 2 cents. This was a very long, borring and tedious task.  It will stop all non-geek for sure.
