Hello Banana Hackers,
I recently bought a 8110, though it's not sure that I got a real one (chinese copy?)
I checked the IMEI and it says "8110", though not "Nokia 8110 4G" as I guess it should.
Anyway, while the ahrdware specs seem to match more or less, it's the firmware that I have no idea about. It shows nothing like standard KaiOS settings or welcome screen. I have tried many different stuff found on the internet and it didn't work so I'd like to try and do a clean install of KaiOS, hoping that it is possible. See details of what I have tried below:
- Nokia Suite:
* does not recognize the phone with a USB cable. I got the phone with a one-piece charger, ie I took one of my USB cable to try and connect. It does charge the phone but doesn't seem to do data transfer, so it doesn't appear.
* it sees the phone through Bluetooth but when trying to actually communicate with it I have a message that an unspecified error
- ADB
* does not find the phone whether through USB or Bluetooth
- Developper mode
* went through all the settings and did not find anything allowing this sort of access. Hard reset stuff (Up + Power) just does regular restart
- Reset to factory settings:
* Just reverts the language to chinese

Anyway, so I was wondering if there was anyway I could force a KaiOS install through a SD card for example, but all tutorials I have seen require "Developper mode" or "Boot from SD" kind of options, that I don't have.
So I was wondering if any of you had an idea how to completely bypass whatever OS I have and force an install of KaiOS. I understand there's a risk of bricking my phone but I'm willing to take it seeing how annoying the current OS is.
Thanks
