Badge Alliance colleagues,

I am looking for examples of the use of digital badges by adult basic skills or adult English language learning programs in any country, but especially in the U.S. or Canada. If you have leads, please let me know.

Thanks.

David,

At Anne Arundel Community College we’ve been issuing badges for Interactive English: Intermediate ESL and Interactive English: Advanced.  I’ve included the description below.  If you would like more information I can connect you to the Assistant Director who setup the badges.  I would like to issue badges for adult basic skills but we are waiting on the WIOA regulations to be finalized which should be in 2016 before we decide on issuing badges.

ELL 301/302 Interactive English: Intermediate ESL focuses on effective strategies and techniques for reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Practice interactive activities by exploring contemporary topics. Develop grammar skills while building vocabulary. Build confidence expressing ideas and opinions about global issues

ESL 373/374 Interactive English: Advanced Students develops upper level language skills. Practice using complex grammar structures. Develop critical thinking skills. Gain fluency in oral and written communications through contemporary texts, videos, podcasts and movies.

Regards,

Charlene
