Search for birth or baptism seats - Island of São Miguel

I am looking for seats of birth or baptism of my great-grandfather VITORINO CORDEIRO DO COUTO, natural of the island of São Miguel – Azores, was the son of João Jacyntho do Couto and must have been born between 1820 and 1850.

Could someone in the group appoint me sources of inquiry?

Hi Nelson,

You need the freguesia, otherwise, you need to hunt through about 70 churches for that 30 year period.

Or turn to DNA. It may not give you the freguesia (or a cousin who has a lost Victorino, son of Joao Jacinto do Couto), but it may give you an area of the island.

You want Family Finder. It's on sale through Tues, Sept. 3rd. You'll eventually want to do your Y-DNA as well, but the quickest way to your answer (through DNA) would be the Family Finder product.
