Inventory of Death for Manuel Ferriera Drummond (Drumonde) Coelho

Hello All,

I have recently obtained a 500-page document that I understand to be the inventory of death for my 3GGF  Manuel Ferriera Drummond (Drumonde) Coelho. I have never looked at one of these before, so I am not even sure what I am looking for or at, really. So I was just wondering if anyone here has had experience with one of these before and maybe has some insight as to what can be found in one of these documents.

It will vary from year to year. More recent ones (last 100 years) will have a copy of the death certificate. I've seen inventories list children, grandchildren, and great-grands. Sometimes the location may only say "America" and other times, it could say "Rhode Island" or "Foxpoint, Rhode Island." I think the rest of it is the inventory of the estate (how many beds, how many cows, assets, etc).

Hi Natasha,

I have already consulted a large number of inventories da Ilha Terceira. There is especially all the assets of the deceased: properties, livestock, houses and all the objects contained in the houses. Each element is evaluated financially.
There are then the different amounts of money owed to him and that he owes to other people.
The total sum constituting the inheritance is concluded.
There is often the list of the different heirs, spouse and children, who will share the total amount: half for the spouse and the other half for the children.
