Good morning all,  I am in need of 3 certified birth certificates.
I have email what I hope to be their site but have received no
response. Has anyone had success doing this? Any advise
appreciated.   Thank you, Janice

Hi Janice,

It's difficult to answer your question because we don't know what site you emailed or when you emailed them.

I emailed them at cr...@dgrn.mi.pt. My question to them was if this was the correct location to request birth certificates for Bretanha and Pavoacao  and the best way to pay them. I Emailed them last week.

Hi Janice,

OK, now I see in the title it said Ponta Delgada.

I will assume you mean Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel island. I don't know what cr...@dgrn.mi.pt is, but it is not Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel island. It's mainland Portugal. It's kinda like you want a birth certificate from California, so you emailed the vital registry in Nebraska. They won't have it.

The information for the Civil Registry in Ponta Delgada (covering Bretanha) is here:

But for Povoacao, you need the Civil Registry in Povoacao:

I believe you need a Portuguese I.D. to get a recent (last 100 years) birth certificate. If you don't have a Portuguese I.D. card, then pay Joao Ventura the archivist to get it for you. He'll charge you for the record(s) and a couple of bucks for his time. heroi99 at yahoo.com

Well, I am really confused then because I got that email from my grandmother‘s certificate which I got personally in Ponta Delgado about 15 years ago.

Do you have any advice on how to reach them to order the  certificates? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

They may have changed email addresses since 15 years ago. Use the one I gave you if you have a Portuguese I.D. card. Or use Joao Ventura the archivist if you don't have an I.D. from Portugal.
