I believe the side note says that Manoel Soares de Freitas died on 22 of April of current year (1960) and the second side note says that his wife, Virginia Eugenia Cabral, died on 21 of current (can’t read the rest)

Can sks help me out here?

Thanks, Sidenote Sam

Manuel died 23 April 1960 (at least in this light). Maybe someone with better eyes can look.

Virginia died 21 Dec? 1966 (?) That's my best guess. Maybe they recorded it on Virginia's baptism too?

For what it's worth, I completely concur with Cheri.

The body of the record has something I've never seen.  Does it say that she is a 17-year-old orphan that is legally authorized to marry by a judge at city hall?

I didn't read the body. It kinda looks like that, yet Virginia has parents that are named (maybe they died and that's not mentioned?). They also got a dispensation to marry, so they are cousins. A native speaker will have to tell us what that "orphan that is legally authorized to marry by a judge at city hall" thing says.

Hi Sam,

Do you know if the bride's father was deceased at the time of the marriage? If so, i think the bride would need the father's legal permission if she was under 25, but then again, i'm not sure if that applies to that time period.

Hi Angela;  I found Virginia’s birth and I believe it says when her father died, in the margin, but; I can’t quite read the date.  Below that I think it also says when she died?

Thanks, Cheri.  I found Virginia’s birth and it verifies her death date but; I can’t quite read the date, in the sidenote. I think it does say 21 Dec 1966.

Did you mean to attach Virginia's baptism?

Her parents' deaths would be in their baptism, not all the kids' baptisms.

Hi Sam,

I just checked her baptism record, the sidenote states #1 her marriage, #2 her husband's death, #3 and her own death.

My wife verified that a  judge's order legally authorized her to marry since she was an orphan.

I did find obitos for her parents.  Her mother died 6 months before she married and her father two years before.
