Jesse Ferreira born 2Dec/1878 Exposto #1612 placed on the wheel at 11:am Sao Miguel, Probably in the parish of Matriz Sao Sebastio since that is where he was baptized on3/Dec 1878 by Joao Ferreira (1857-1915) and Ana D. Cabral ( 1855-1915).
Jesse married Mary Conceicao de Jesus (daughter of Izadorio Souza, Sailor and Luiza Agusta de Jesus, Domestic) on18 July/1895 At the Santa Clara church in Sao Kose, Ponta Delgado Sao Miguel
Jesse indicated that he entered the US in 1901 in one place and 1902 in another. Mary entered the US in 1902 or later with son Manuel (Manoel?) who was only 2 or 3 at the time.
I have been unable to find the port of entry for Mary and/ Jesse. I have found one entry for Mary on the SS Republic leaving San Jose, Ponta Delgado 31 Oct, 1901 but the document is torn and I don’t see a son accompanying her.
Jesse applied for Social Security on 10/1/1937
Any info or lead as to how to find their ports of entry, etc would be appreciated.
