1973 is really recent for genealogy. I'd start with asking your parents what they know about their parents. When the celebrated birthdays, etc.

Hi,

Start with yourself and work backwards.  If your parents or grandparents are living find out all you can from them.  If the grandparents are deceased, get copies of their death certificates which may list their parents.
