envelope just 0 to 63,5

To control a filter pitch it needs -63 to +63. The envelope generators produce only 0 to +63,5. This limits the dynamic range of the filter. To get it full i have to set the main pitch reg. to 0 but when the env. is 0 the filter is not closed. it has to be - 63 to get it closed. How do i do that? I cant seem to find a solution to convert a 0 to 63 to -63 to +63.

That is correct, but it did not satisfy me. I want the env. gen. sweep from no sound to all sound so i have the full dynamic range. To do that i have to pitch the filter to 0. The filter has full dynamic range over the filter, but since the envelope generator, when not triggered, is -63 the filter is not fully open when filterpitch is at max.

Actual filter pitch is
the sum of the pitch parameter value and the value at the pitchm inlet

both accept -64..64 range

the sum of these is clamped to the -64..64 range.

So only when the parameter dial is at its center (0) position it can reach the full range via the pitchm inlet.

I suggest to diagnose by using the "disp/dial b" object.

Are you trying to "open" the filter from the envelope or "close" it?

What's the motivation of using a filter as a vca? It's probably unstable when sweeping fast at high resonance settings.

I try to open it. In the 80's opening the filter by the envelope in conjunction with the vca was the way to make a good sound. I would like to approach that sound so i will look further into it. The control by the env to open it is already done, but i have to change the influence of the env to pitch the filter to the max when no env is added. To be continued.....

I have got it. Take a mixer obj. env through the mixer dial obj. through the mixer and even lfo. After that conv/unipolar2bipolar and then to the filter pitch. pitch at zero.

I am glad the Axoloti is so flexible to do all the tricks i want. Great job Johannes.

I think it's very good you react on our posts. I shall upload my synth when it's ready. I hope it will be a  good 80,s synth.
