I think the subject line says it all.  Without totally giving his age away, there was a television programme called sunset strip with a number in front of it, and just in case you have still got enough fingers and toes to work it out, Colin was born in 1949.

7 of us, including Colin went out for a very enjoyable meal on Saturday afternoon.  Very Many Thanks to our good friend Clare Bagot who looked after 6 totally Blind men making sure we had drinks and meals and providing a couple of us with transport.

I am sure we will have messages from others as the day progresses, and, I am sure we will hear from Colin, as to how he has spent his day.

Thank you Colin, for the work you have already done, and the work you continue to do for the association.

I am sure you will enjoy your day.

Dave Stephenson.

Greetings,

Thanks Dave, I am pleased we had an enjoyable time on Saturday and yes, Clare, being the only sight amongst us managed all very well!  I suppose, when  we stayed at Steevo Mansions for close on two hours, after all her efforts including making us mugs of tea at Steevo Mansions, she deserved the over an hour doze in the chair before we finally departed at about 18:10.

Greetings.

Well, at the time of writing this, it is as close to half 9 in the morning as I'm likely to get, so on this premise, I'd like to join those who've already done so, in wishing our magazine editor and dispatcher many happy returns for the day.

Permit me to mention a bit of radio trivia, which I think Colin might like, particularly as he has a measure of lived experience of listening to various New York based stations while visiting the city, unlike me, particularly as I've never crossed the pond to date.

One of the most famous radio stations in New York is WABC, which has separate AM and FM broadcast services in said city.

The way American broadcasters often announce their AM frequencies is rather odd, with WABC being a case in point. While the actual frequency for this station is 770 Khz, the name checking of this station is not 770 WABC, but simply 77 WABC, but where the 77 reference is very much on topic given the reasoning behind this thread.

Actually, the temperature in some parts of the UK could reach 77 degrees today, at least in the old Fahrenheit measurement, which the Americans still use of course. Hence, you might well hear weather references state side like, Top temps in N Y C could reach 77 WABC degrees today. If this temperature level is reached in South Hampshire, then even more reasons to celebrate, particularly as the predicted high in Fareham is likely to be 25 degrees Celsius, which equates to guess what, 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

Anyway a very happy Sunset Strip birthday to Colin for today.

Regards, Chris B.
