Just a quick FYI. I am in the process of organising a trip along the orange river for new years. Numbers limited to no more than 25. Let me know if you interested. I want to preferably be booked end of Jan, early Feb. More details to follow.

 This is not a good options

 

2 x reasons

 

it is on the Namibian side so we all need passports

its on the lower end of the Orange river so will be very taim and boring

 

Trust me we went with gravity adventures, its a very good option, no passports required and places ranging to level 3 rapids 9still doable as all the girls had plenty fun with no fear :) )

 

Same as this option all food and snacks included, when we did it the new years package included a spit braai for new years eave very very good

But yeah, blatant sexism aside, I gotta agree with Jacques. There's no point white water rafting if the only white water is the equivalent of what you can make in the bath with the tap on full... 

That Amanzi place says it's mostly grade 1 rapids...

I've heard Felix Unite is the same section of the river as Amanzi too, so I'd highly recommend Gravity. We had an awesome time when we went. :)

Here is the important information for new year awesomeness. I am repeating the information I have gathered in a spreadsheet online, which YOU are going to edit to indicate whether you are coming or not.

Min: 10 pax

Ideal: 24 pax

Max: 30 pax

Costs:

• Basic, R4,075 (inclusive of new year's meal and party)
  
• Deposit is 25%, which is roughly R1,020

Optional Costs:

• Renting of a roll mat, R100
  
• Renting of a sleeping bag, R200
  
• Purchasing an airbed (Single), R350
  
• Purchasing an airbed (Double), R450
  
• Purchasing a tent (2 man), R550
  

We will be arriving there on the 27th of December, we can organise a potential stop over somewhere on the 26th for those who want to.

We will be on the river by the 28th of December.

We will be back at base camp on the 31st of December.

We will leave on the 1st of January, potential stop over somewhere for the 2nd welcome.

Deadline for booking is the 31st of May.
