I got a $50 Kindle Fire on Black Friday, intended for RCP use. But the racecar is parked for the winter, so I loaned the barely-used tablet to a friend. She's had it borrowed till today (racecar came out of storage in April......) when it was replaced with a new $35 Kindle from Amazon Prime Day.

She also had asked why she couldn't put the Youtube app on the Kindle.. after some research, it seems to be a political thing vs a true hardware / compatibility thing. A quick search found this - http://www.howtogeek.com/232874/how-to-use-gmail-youtube-google-maps-and-other-google-apps-on-amazons-fire-tablet/

So I used their hack to put the Google Play Store on the Kindle (in developer mode). After I got youtube installed and working, I checked for RCP (had previously loaded the beta manually) and found I could get the latest 1.6.0 thru the Google Play store. Yay! And our next autocross is this Sunday, so I'll get to check it out, finally.

Good to know about the play store! However,  it's important to know that the latest app is now on the Amazon app store too.  We don't currently have a beta app that is ahead of production.
