Sorry if this is double posted, my first try isn't appearing.

I am a 25 year Windows admin who just inherited a Mac environment that uses Munki/AutoPkgr. I don't know what I'm doing, so I'm hoping the community can help me out.

The email notification stopped working a few weeks ago, and I don't understand why. When I open AutoPkgr and try to send a Test email, I get an error:

After hours of googling and reading, I have found nothing. Can anyone suggest how I might troubleshoot this and get notifications working again? I only almost no understanding of the Mac keychain, how to use/manage/repair it; so please feel free to explain it as though I know nothing - which is true.

Thanks,

Alex

Hello! I encountered the same issue - see these GitHub issues for the fix:

Thanks Mike,

I read through both threads, and they seem to hinge on the reinstallation of the AutoPgkr helper tool. Specifically "reinstall the AutoPkgr helper tool by holding Opt and selecting Reinstall Helper Tool." I can't quite figure out how to do this, when I open Finder, hold Opt and right click on AutoPgkr there is no option to Reinstall the Helper tool. If I open Finder > Right click on AutoPkgr > select Show Package Contents, I searched through there a well and I don't see a helper tool.

If anyone has done this before, could you please explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old (I have zero experience working in a Mac environment)? Thanks.

Alex

Open AutoPkgr and select the Install tab
Check "Show AutoPkgr menu icon"
A suitcase icon should appear in your Mac menubar
Hold option and click the suitcase icon
You should see "Reinstall Helper Tool" at the bottom of the menu

That was it... was able to reinstall the Helper tool, and notifications are working again. Thank you.
