Hi Everyone,

here is an update for the coming event: Note earlier start time and venue.

This is an informal social get together for all QGIS users on Friday 15 August 5-7pm. If you would like to join us over a drink and finger food to chat about the software or just to socialise with like-minded people, then you are warmly welcome.

Venue: Hadleys Hotel, 34 Murray Street, Hobart. Look for us in the back room beyond the bar in the first instance.
A big thanks to Dean at GISJobs Australia for sponsoring this event.

For those wanting an informal meal afterward and somewhere nearby, we can discuss on the night.

Hi all,

I’ve been following the Propeller Aero guide on converting SHP to GeoTIFF and trying to replicate the workflow in QGIS. I’ve installed the SAGA Next Gen plugin, but I’m having trouble locating the Rasterize tool they refer to—it doesn’t seem to be included in the updated SAGA NG package.

How to Convert SHP to GeoTIFF – Propeller Aero

Just wondering if anyone here has worked with SAGA NG recently and might know where that tool has moved to—or if it’s been renamed or replaced?

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Hi Peter,

This tool is available under the main menu Raster > Conversion. I also cannot see it in the updated SAGA > Raster algorithms.

Cheers Grant

Hi Peter
Strongly recommend you use the GDAL tool `Vector conversion/Convert format/Rasterize`. Here's the tutorial for it.

Kind regards
Em
