Hello all! Do you know where i can find complete and accurate data for the aboriginal communities in Northern Territory? I was looking for this https://www.ntlis.nt.gov.au/imfPublic/imf.jsp?site=nt_atlas

but the data aren't downloadable.

Hi George,

A few years ago I ordered the NT aboriginal communities data from the NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics. I paid about $130 for data covering about 2/3 of the NT. I can share that data with you, but it doesn't cover the whole territory.

You can get a quote by emailing here: Land...@nt.gov.au

Also, the NatMap 250K dataset has most communities (https://data.gov.au/dataset/ds-ga-a05f7892-ecbd-7506-e044-00144fdd4fa6/details?q=Natmap%20250k%20vector). It's a starting dataset that's free at least. But it's old data so you'll definitely need to check names against the atlas you linked to.

Hello Maia,

It would be great if you could share the data with me. In the past two days, I came across sources discussing the closure of some communities through the creation of service hubs. If this is true, then the data you have is even more useful to me!

Hi George,

The communities themselves are not being closed down. That would be the same as closing a village in Europe. What the Government is doing though is centralising services into regional hubs to reduce the number of staff required to operate the hubs.
