Supporter status for FOSS4G 2025

Hi All

FOSS4G 2025 have asked if we would like to have a supporter status with the conference. 

What this means:

- They put our logo on the website (which they already have - cheeky - I hadn't sent them anything yet so they beat me to asking you)

- We just promote the conference through our channels - so through socials, we just amplify/report, and mention/forward any emails

As part of the FOSS4G movement, whilst we look directly to the QGIS Project, that project in turn looks to OSGeo and FOSS4G is their major conference. Some of the QGIS PSC team are coming down to the conference as are some major players from OpenGIS.ch and Ujavel Gandhi. 

Therefore I would propose that we have this support status. Please let me know if you feel otherwise.

Hey Em,

I have no problem with that, obviously we have no money but just confirming there is no financial obligation? It's just helping to spread the word as best we can?

Is it a bit weird that they added us without consultation or has there been discussions and they just jumped the start before it came back to the group? I think we should be as active as possible to help the success of the event and help raise awareness for the wider community. It just seems bonkers on a local scale that we had the hiccup last year where we were cast aside, and now we're pulled in without knowing it? I much prefer the latter :)

For clarification they did ask me and I couldn't see a problem with it but I was remiss in not checking in with group first.

Oh and no money at all. 

They have given us one of the larger rooms to run QGIS community events in. 

So I believe we are working together.

Hi All,

 

Gabriele Pizzi (https://github.com/gbrlpzz/qgis_project_packager) has created a python script to package up all layers into a zip file and I was wondering if someone might have some time to see if this can be converted into a plug-in? Current project packagers do not package up raster and memory layers.

 

It would also be good for others to test this to see if anyone has any problems.
