I am having unnecessary problems with Georeferencing, I am using Q 3.40 Ltr

I can open the georeferenced and load a plan into it (it loads JPG, PNG and surprisingly PDF). The problem starts when I go to georeference. I click on my first control point but I cannot get the map canvas to open so I cannot georeferenced my plan to the map canvas.

I have tried different projects and the issue persists.

It was working on Sunday.

Does anyone have any ideas about what the problems might be.

Sounds like a windows issue, as far as I know the Georeferencer window is active until you press - click on map canvas - then the canvas should be active. But if you have multiple monitors and the system is forgetting whats what, that active window can be hidden. Try ALT and TAB cycling through the windows.

An Alternative Test is to create a new profile and see if problem persists. Agree that it may be a windows issue but a new profile may be the quick and easy way to overcome.

There is a plugin called "freehand raster georeferencer" which I frequently use instead of the standard one that comes with QGIS.

It has some limitations and is a bit more informal than the official one, but is super quick to use for those cases when all you want is a quick comparison of a scanned map to your map.

Hope it helps,
Juan
