A few c very heavy 1 hour falls around NSW recently
Sydney had 40 mm in 40 min s and 50 mm in an hour a midday yesterday and it was reported as “Sydney’s heaviest 1 hour rainfall in 30 years”.
Not sure where that fat came from (I can’t confirm or otherwise) but if true, it puts into context Sydney’s heaviest ever 1 hour fall of 121 mm in the 8 November evening storm of 1984.
I think that remains the heaviest 1 hour fall in an Australian capital city although Brisbane once had 86 mm in 30 minutes

Hi Don
We recorded 26.3 mm in a storm last evening. I am yet to look at the PWS data but I think it fell in about 20 minutes. We had some water come through a skylight on the back veranda otherwise no damage.
I am currently in Crookwell visiting our youngest daughter.
Cheers
Gavin
