Highway font on Ampol commercial

Hi everyone,

Spotted a new Ampol commercial on TV tonight and noticed the font used during the commercial looks quite similar to the fonts outlined in AS1744. Can anyone confirm?

Definitely looks like Highway Gothic/Roadgeek (and not a derivative like Interstate).

That second to last shot of the awning is a bit of a shocker, the proportions of the logo are WAY out. I can't imagine why they'd need to CGI the logo in?

Cool spot! I'm guessing you're down south, up here in Queensland we only have about 4 Ampols so far so would be pointless promoting it at this stage. Love the use of the Go-Betweens too, I remember when they were on a Prime 7 ad when I was quite young.

I'd suggest the lighting inside the awning might not have worked out for them when they were taking the required shots at night and it was easier for them to CGI it instead. Could have done a far better job.
Based on the relatively dodgy rollouts of this new livery that I've already seen the awning lighting might not have even worked.

Hey mate! Yeah you picked it, I'm in NSW. Haven't seen an Ampol in my neck of the woods yet (Central West NSW), but I'm led to believe there are a fair few in Sydney. Ampol are taking their sweet time with the rollout but I suppose a nationwide rebrand wouldn't be a cheap endeavour.

The Caltex down the road from me was rebranded an Ampol on 28 Feb. I believe that's the first one in this area (though I don't think its the only one in Queensland).
