Hi all,
I was reading over the notes from our last meeting and had another idea for the potential remote workshop. As well as a presentation and Q&A from the TC, we could invite the community to contribute flash talks in the same way as those presented at APT&M 2018. These can be pre-recorded easily, either video or a couple of slides and audio, 1-2 minutes each to present a certain APM-related software tool.
Thoughts?

Dear Andy and colleagues,

I like this idea! Honestly, I would even go further and suggest not to wait with this until the next APT&M.
What if we now set up a community meeting, maybe 2-3 h were each group worldwide reports shortly
in a 10min talk their software dev aims, and desired field of expertise to focus on in the future.
Then we can compile a list of clear aims for the global community, where ideally all people would
like to agree that APT software should evolve in this direction in a lets say 2/3/5 years perspective.
Ideally this should include Ametek, Inspico and Peter such that we avoid doing redundant
work and agree maybe strategically on one concept that allows the groups to define and hold their
individual selling point (expertise) for which they focus the tool development (i.e. clustering by E. Marquis
comes to my mind) but the dev efforts are shared in a coordinated and not competitive effort
Thereby, we can assure that we develop towards the same goals along a common roadmap
were each group keeps its strength and the results are strong also on
FAIR data management and workflow documentation.

Bests,
Markus

Hi Markus,
Note I wasn't suggesting we wait till the next meeting, only till the original APT&M date this year.
I certainly like the bigger-picture view here, but I think the flash talks suit individuals or small tools better. Why not both?
Andy
