Forcing files clarification

Hello all,

I am wrangling some forcing files and was wondering whether the values defined in the netcdf are applied over an entire layer of a polygon, or are multiplied by the surface area/volume of said layer. I tried to look up the forcing file page on Atlassian and the manual, but neither specify it (or at least - I missed that bit of information!).

Bonus question: if anyone is using GDB, what command would I need to type to look up the amount of nutrient injected into the system by my forcing file?

Generally the forcing files need to match the units of the output variable so it depends. Some variables like invert biomass are in mgN m^-3 and get applied to box volume. Others like temperature or salinity are uniform.
