G’day

CSIRO IT have decided to go further than just the wiki. Now the SVN system is being shut down too (to the point I can’t even push to it and I don’t think anyone can external can pull).

I am looking into how/if I can pull the commit history from SVN to Git but doubt it.

As a “getting set up on Git” offer, if you are unable (due to being mid project or mid publication etc) to be upgrade to the latest Trunk please send me the version you are using and I will individually pull those versions and create syubs on Github. I won’t be maintaining those stubs, only the Trunk (we know from previous experience it is simply too hard to keep on top of more than the Trunk).

So to get this all set up please email me direct with the following info

  1. Which version you want me to create a stub for or if you’d really just want Trunk access
  2. Whether you want just read (download) access or also write access (for some of you who are actively writing code this will be an easier way to do it collaboratively going forward)

If you could do that sooner rather than later that would be good in case they cut off my pull access too (i.e. they turn off the SVN server completely)

I will also accelerate moving the wiki info to an accessible spot, likely associated with Git if I can. I will at least put up a Readme on how to install and run etc.

I will also directly email registered Atlantis users directly with this news so sorry if you get this via multiple routes in the next few days.

Wow,
That is some lockdown!!

However you can migrate a SVN repo with history to a git. There are quite a few tutorials online for this.
So is the long term plan to put this on GitHub (under a private repo) or is CSIRO IT going to prevent that too?

And will they help you migrate the code?
Andy

Hi Beth
To answer your questions...
I think I just need trunk access, I have the older versions I use downloaded locally.
I would like read and write access.
Is the git repo setup? My user name is jacobkasper
Thank you
Jacob
