SMTP problem with Gmail (wrong HELO)

When trying to send an email with Google ASTPP is sending a wrong HELO and Gmail is rejecting it:

501-5.5.4 closing connection.

I have noticed ASTPP is sending the value base_url in /var/lib/astpp/astpp-config.conf

I am connecting to gmail using ssl://smtp.google.com and port 465

When going to Accounts -> Email mass any template. 

Where do I change the HELO SMTP command that is sent when presenting a new SMTP connection ?

I added the '\r' to  /var/www/html/astpp/system/libraries:

        var $crlf = "\r\n"; // The RFC 2045 compliant CRLF for quoted-printable is "\r\n".  

And now I have received the following error:

In my Gmail account I received the following attachment. Also "Allow less secure app" is not available in my Gsuite account.

I am using ssl://smtp.gmail.com and port 465

Any advice?

If you use gsuite, authorize your astpp server ip in admin panel for smtp-relay, that way you don't need username or password then.

Thank you. I authorized the IP address as SMTP relay but ASTPP requires me to add a username/password and does not let me leave it blank.

When using a correct username/password I get the following:

It is not available anymore that option in GSuite. That’s why I am unable to set it up.

Any idea? There must be lots of users using Gsuite as SMTP relay with ASTPP….

I think you have to add IP of your server in Gsuite somewhere Or you have to configure proper relay. Please refer below article.
