Regarding MNI template

Sir,

In my work, I have used segmented GM and WM for the simulation of ASL images using kinectic model. Is it necessary for simulated images created from segmented GM and WM images by SPM12 were aligned to the MNI template? Could you please explain what is the significance of converting an image to MNI template?

I don’t see a need to project the GM and WM images into the MNI space here. Registering into the MNI space is required for group level comparisons among different brains.
