Hello Sameer and Youth Committee,

Following is the application of Nikita for the post of Vice President of Youth Committee.

—————

ASDFW Youth Club Vice President application
Resume:

Bal Sanskar Shaka - I currently serve as a teacher for bal sanskar shaka and teach a class of kindergarteners through third graders, talking about various aspects of hindu culture and values they should uphold. This involves developing lesson plans in ways that are both educational and entertaining to ensure that everyone is adequately engaged in the lesson.

STEMettes - I serve as the Texas State Chair for a program called STEMettes, dedicated to increasing female representation in the STEM field. My responsibilities involve bringing attention to the program and fostering participation, seeking out individuals to lead cohorts of 10 younger girls where they will discuss various STEM topics, and developing plans for each cohort meeting. So far, I’ve successfully organized over 30 cohorts with roughly 350 girls having successfully completed the program.

Debate Club-
I serve as president for my school’s debate club and am responsible for making plans for and leading each meeting we have. Part of my responsibilities include ensuring communication of my plans to all members and officers, training novice members of the club to succeed at competitions, and increasing participation in the club through developing flyers and utilizing social media.

Engagement:
I have been a part of Agrawal Samaj for four years now, and have been an active member of the youth club since then. I have assisted Agrawal samaj by assisting in designing posters for various ASDFW such as Agrasend Jayanti, Holi, and Diwali. I’ve also participated in various cultural activities for agrawal samaj such as performing at Agrasend jayanti.

Why:
I believe that I would be a good fit for the position of Vice President as interacting with and entertaining younger children is one of my strengths, explaining my experience in this area. My past experiences in managing younger children, demonstrated by my participation in bal sanskar shaka and STEMettes has led me to truly enjoy spending time with them and better develop an understanding of what they enjoy and how to best interact with them. Additionally, skills I developed while increasing participation in the STEMettes program and Debate Club can help me work to increase membership in the ASDFW youth club.
