Change in plans for BAC meeting on Monday December 1st

Hi everyone,

We have a change in plans. Monday's BAC meeting is now CANCELLED.

BUT instead, a smaller group of us will meet in person at 7pm at Bronson Bierhall, 4100 N Fairfax Drive in Ballston, to talk about the MTP (Master Transportation Plan) aka Arlington's Transportation Future. This smaller in-person gathering is open to all -- you are all very welcome to join us.

As for cancelling the BAC meeting itself, Elwyn informed us yesterday that the Arlington County Police Department has once again declined our invitation to meet with the BAC. So the hoped-for conversation with ACPD this Monday Dec. 1st will not be happening.

We had also suggested meeting with the Department of Environmental Services (DES) about the Long Bridge multimodal project, the Custis moguls, the 66 underpass, and other topics. But that idea is a non-starter, as the DES no longer interacts with Arlington's road safety committees, as director Hui Wang and county manager Schwartz have confirmed.

Please let us know if you'd like to join us at Monday's informal get-together at 7 pm at Bronson Bierhall.
