Hi Manoj,

Thanks for reporting the bug. This was introduced in the latest version of the EDGAR plugin and its integration with XULE. I've forwarded this to the SEC team that manages the plugin so they're aware. In the meantime, you can disable the EDGAR plugin and use XULE/DQC without it if you'd like to validate with the latest DQC rule set map.

Kind regards,
Austin Matherne

Hi Austine,

Is there any update from the SEC team regarding the reported bug? We are still encountering the same issue in the latest Arelle version 2.37.53.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Regards,
Manoj

Hi Manoj,

Do you have the EDGAR validation and renderer plugins enabled? The latest versions of those EDGAR plugins by the SEC are not designed to be used alongside the DQC plugin. The SEC has configured them to run its own set of DQC rules which conflict with the DQC plugin. There should be a message in the Arelle log warning you not to use the DQC plugin alongside EDGAR if you have them enabled together.

To run the full DQC suite you can either:
1. Disable the EDGAR renderer and validation plugins and enable DQC. This should allow you to use DQC as normal.
2. Disable the DQC plugin and enable EDGAR, but use the dqcRuleFilter option to run the full suite. There is a discussion on how to do this over on GitHub.

Kind regards,
Austin Matherne

Austin,

I also am unable to use DQC validation with Arelle version 2.37.53.
When EDGAR renderer is disabled and DQC plugin is enabled, it shows a number of invalid transformation errors but no DQC validation.
When DQC plugin is disabled and EDGAR renderer is enabled, it does not provide DQC validation results. I am not clear on how to enable the dqcRuleFilter option from the GitHub link.
As mentioned in previous posts, I am unable to check or update the DQC ruleset through the Tools / DQC interface.
Further guidance on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nicholas

You can enable the "SEC Inline Transforms" plugin to handle the custom SEC transforms without enabling the rest of the EDGAR plugins. You may also need the "Inline XBRL Document Set" plugin depending on the report you're trying to validate. So "SEC Inline Transforms" + "Inline XBRL Document Set" + "DQC Rules Validator" plugins should enable you to run the full DQC suite of rules.

Austin,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried as you suggested. I still do not get DQC validation with DQC plugin enabled, along with SEC Inline Transforms and Inline XBRL Document Set plugins enabled, and EDGAR Renderer disabled.

Thanks,
Nicholas

Do you have "DQC Rules" checked under the Tools > Validation menu? If that's still not working, can you provide a copy of the message log after performing validation? You should be able to right click in the messages pane and select "Save to file".

Austin,

Yes, I have  "DQC Rules" checked under the Tools > Validation menu.
The only plug-ins enabled are DQC Rules Validator,  Inline XBRL Document Set, and SEC Inline Transforms.
I used a test file that should show DQC validation errors.

Regardless of DQC rules there should be a "validated in x time" message in the log.  Did you perform validation prior to capturing the log? Tools > Validation > Validate

Austin,

Thanks for clarifying that. In the past, DQC validation ran without the extra step of checking  Tools > Validation > Validate.
Now DQC validation seems to be working if I recheck Validate every time. I appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Nicholas
