Mine too. Walked up and got a *thunk* "well that isn't going to work, time for plan B". If you can afford like a 1/4" kerf and a definite ridge on the back the other option for the 10" stock would be run it through the table saw and flip it over. Only option for the 12" stuff would be plane half of it into shavings.

Ah ha. Guess my memory of the band saw was perhaps a bit exaggerated. Good to know.

MylesBen,We haven't implemented any formal system yet. I'll be down there tonight and saturday and sunday afternoons if you would like to go over this. Unfortunately, I did so some resawing on the band saw last week and found out the maximum height we can do is only 6.75-7 inches though.

I'm hoping to resaw approx 6 board-feet of 1x10 or 1x12" fir stock down to half thickness. The cut faces don't have to be finish quality, so fineness of blade used isn't critical. I have used AR's band saw several years ago, but I'm asking to inquire whether the tool is still available, what is the desired process to be able to use the tool again. E.g. revised safety training appropriate for the new space?(I wouldn't be needing to sand anything. Wouldn't impinge on current sander discussion.)
