The probation shall commence from the date of joining, if he/she was on duty for 60 days without break, i.e., other than CL & general/public holidays. A direct recruited employee shall be placed on probation for a period 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. Rule 16 of APS&SS Rules, 1996. The Leave, other than CL, availed shall not count for probation. Hence, the probation has to be postponed. FR 9(6). The duty period should be calculated as per FR 9(18). The first Annual grade increment shall be released, if he is on duty on the 1st of the month in which the increment falls and monetary benefit will be allowed from the date of reporting after availing the eligible leave. The second annual grade increment shall be sanctioned on the normal date of increment but the monetary benefit of that increment should be allowed from the following day of declaration of probation.
