Great update!

Thanks for adding your own version of the number pad to the scribble screen, as well as the aircraft icon. I like your version of the icon selector better. Going forward, I will first discuss any changes on the forum before I invest the time in coding and testing.

Feedback on the number pad:
  • It's tiny on my 7" as it does not scale to larger screens. My enter key looks almost like the dot.
  • Would be nice if the pad stays open when you exit/re-enter the notes section.
Minor:
  • Having the number pad on one side only may cause visibility issues for left-handers while typing. Maybe place it lower?
  • If you need to fix something, it's either backspace all the way or clear-all only. Option to remove single lines via the brush symbol?
I added this pad because for helicopter reasons, I can only take one hand off controls, which is my left hand and I'm terrible at writing with it. In the few seconds I have to type, I need to be able to reliably hit buttons.

Regards, Mike

Thank you Mike for your time. I am not taking any PRs anymore. Volunteers are needed for support and testing.

Amazing features! I had always really hoped that a KML viewer would be available in AvareX, but I didn't want to be a bother and request it. This is huge for me.

Also, I am attaching the tracks I captured yesterday. A few things to note:
  1. Some applications will infer a landing (such as my full-stop taxi-back at KAEJ) and indicate with a symbol. How challenging would it be to implement the same little takeoff and landing icons shown at KBJC?
  2. Are we certain that the 3D profile has an accurate scaling of terrain vs altitude? This was a Rocky Mountain flight and it almost looks like I was over the plains. I re-downloaded my elevation files and restarted the app, and that didn't seem to help.
  3. And an obvious follow-up to an already awesome feature: have you considered swapping in different map layers for the 2D representation? Such as a sectional?
I hope the tracks and feedback are helpful. Thanks so much for this!

Really liking all of the new features/additions while also keeping with a minimalist approach without clutter.

For the number pad, is it possible to add something where you can see where you are about to type? For example, if I want to enter down in the Tach Time position, I have to counter what looks to be 3 positions per section to get to the Tach Time area. If I happen to miss-press on the enter button my "count" is off and I start typing in the incorrect location.

Thank you,
David Farleman
