There are several new features released in version 84 and 83 of the app. These are not available in the legacy app.

Wind particle animation - You will need to turn on Wind Vectors in Layers. A slider will appear on the left that will let you change the plan altitude and hence the altitude at which wind vectors are shown.

Cloud Ceiling - You will need to turn on Celing in Layers. A slider will appear on the left that will let you change the plan altitude and hence the altitude at which you may encounter cloud ceiling. Only lowest layer of ceiling is shown.

Terrain coloring on plates - You must have Elevation charts downloaded and Elevation layer turned on in Layers. Terrain is optimized and will not cause any slow downs.

Wind en route in Plan Nav log - Plan log shows wind along the route from altitudes 0 to 18000 feet in one simple picture. Green means tail wind, red means head wind. The intensity of the color correlates with wind speed.

Garmin plan share is held back pending testing from some users.
Autopilot is available pending testing from users.

Love these new features.  If I could offer feedback on the slider for altitude. The slider is on the left, using your left hand/finger covers the altitude information that slides along with the slider. Maybe position it offset at least a thumb size above the slider? This would accommodate using both left and right hand while still being able to see the altitude while manipulating the slider.

Thank you!
Dave

These are some very useful new features that I'm excited to try out for my next flight. The wind particle animation is just great.

I agree with Dave about the slider, though. And regarding the wind en route—that's a feature I've been wanting for a long time. However, is there any way to incorporate actual numbers with the coloring? A static legend would be okay, but might take up too much space. Maybe we can tap a region of that graphic and get a tooltip? On a related note, I've always thought it would be nice to have a draggable tooltip with exact elevation on the "Terrain en route" trace. Perhaps we could combine the two vertically—imagine a slider across the bottom of the Navigation Log screen that populates the values of winds at each altitude, plus the exact elevation at the corresponding point along the flight path. Maybe these are simply static images that can't be queried as such—I haven't taken a look at the code to understand the implementation.

Anyway, these are already awesome features to have access to. Thank you for implementing!

That's some cool stuff.
I wonder if there could be a way to animate the vectors with speed.
Thanks.

Question
I saw a brown TFR and couldn't locate any information. What is a brown colored TFR?

Length of the line, with a small number (kt*10?) at the start or end of
every (some number of) lines?

Yes particles are animated at wind speed.
