Merry Christmas to all the developers and users!
Samsung Galaxy S24
Tried to update 77+77 from play store but the only option was "open", rather than update.  Deleted AvareX and successfully installed 77+77.  Anyone know why I couldn't just update?

I have a Galaxy S25. Updated from the Play Store.

At the Play Store for a Galaxy A51 5G I too only have an option to "Open" the app, not to "Update." If I delete the app and then reinstall AvareX will my preferred settings stay the same or must I reset them?

You can export the user database from documents then reinstall then import it back again.
The other option is to use Pro services online back.

Any import of user database will require app restart.

When you just see "Open", it normally means you are already running the same version that is in the store.   Are you sure you don't have auto update turned on?  It is on the play store settings under (believe it or not) network preferences.  One can also check the installed version of AvereX manually.  I would do that before uninstalling.

Thank you! It turns out I do have auto-update turned on. Realizing I tend to hastily read some things I had not noticed that simply opening the AvareX app the Version is printed at the very top, now 0.0.77+77. It is great to know.

One time I NEVER speed read is going through the flight checklist. That is a slow, 1 item at a time read. ALWAYS!

Thanks again!
