One thing I liked about Avare is that without an internet connection you could still look at the weather (winds, METARs, TAFs, etc.) offline as long as these items were still fresh according to the time limit that you set in Settings. For example, you might fly somewhere and not have internet access but want to look up the winds that you downloaded an hour or two earlier before you took off.
I don't see a way to do this on AvareX. I tested it by updating weather and then turned off internet on my phone. Immediately, I was not able to, for example, calculate groundspeed on a flight plan because no wind information was available.
I know a lot of people are using ADS-B-IN now, but there are some situations where you don't have that or internet and still want to look up your previously downloaded weather.
This is especially true for weather charts in the Documents section. Many of these charts are valid for 12 hours or more. But without an internet connection they soon start disappearing!
