I am a big fan of Avare and truly appreciate all of the development work baked into the application. I am currently flying off Phase 1 flight test hours on my slow-build RV7A project. From my airplane rental days, I am familiar with Avare core functionalities (navigation, situational awareness, AP control, and ADS-B display). I’ve only now become interested in the application flight tracking capability.
I spent a few hours experimenting with the new v10.1.0 export workflow and have been able to download, locate, and unzip the Tracks folder. I am able to share the specific KML file I need (identified by date and time) to my Google drive. From there I can open the file in Google Earth Pro and view the track. A little file editing cleans up the track and there are display options available. I can make a JPEG to share with friends and family. Other workflows may work, and this one feels a bit too convoluted, but it works.
I’m curious how others visualize and review their tracks. It appears a number of users are unable to access tracks the way they used to. Was there ever a way to open a past track within Avare, or has it always been only a real-time visualization? With my limited experience it looks like now, once you turn off the real-time track, visualization is lost, unless you export to another tool like I’ve described above. A simpler/faster way to share flight paths would be awesome.

Hi JohnLet me work on it.for next release.
I fear there's going to be a bunch of repetition in this, but this chain has become so long I've lost track.Question 1:
in reference to:On Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 9:16:37 AM UTC-6 app...@gmail.com wrote:Hi JohnLet me work on it.for next release. Can you clarify what you'll be working on for the next release? I *think* you're referring to the rather frightening aspect where every track ever recorded is exported every time, and there's no way to delete any of them.If my interpretation is right, great, if not, and my understanding of the current behavior is correct, may I urge this be fixed with some expeditiousness, otherwise the files will become unmanageable, and worse, the app will presumably kill either itself for lack of permitted storage, or kill the tablet by filling everything.
Question 2:What is the "internal storage" that's currently used. Can I get to it directly, and simply bypass all the messing around? Would the answer to this change if I rooted my device? Or if I put my device into developer mode (actually, it's already in developer mode).
Question 3:Other apps (notably file managers) seem to be able to access the file system, is there not a permission that grants this? I guess that's too simple, and I can't really believe it's as simple as that and you missed it :(
Question 4:The user waypoints file in the original directory is now ignored. I tried to use the tools "import" feature, but absolutely every file I could see using the file system navigator was greyed out. Can anyone tell me how I get these points back in the system (and, how I "turn them off", since I don't always want them showing--that used to be simply move the file in the file manager and then move it back later.
Thanks for any input.Cheers,Simon
