problem in downloading AmE06 corpus

Hello,
I am using AntConC and I am trying to download the AmE06 corpus through the Corpus Manager / online corpus repository. However, I get the following error message:

“A Internet connection error was found. See the error below:
remote directory '/antconc_corpora/AmE06' doesn't exist or has insufficient access rights. Debugging info: ftputil 5.1.0, Python 3.12.10 (darwin)”

I have already tried checking my internet connection and restarting AntConc, but the problem persists. Could you please let me know whether the AmE06 online corpus repository is currently available, or if there is another way to access/download it?

Can you confirm which version of AntConc you are using?

I just checked the latest version (4.4.0), and it seems to be working fine.

I have the same problem as you for version 4.3.1 when i tried to download Ame06. But when i tried with  4.4.0 version, it  gave me this message . Is there a way to resolve this? Thank you.,

Hi Afida,

Thank you for this report. 

I had a recent issue with my server, so there is a possibility that the old version of the repository was not restored properly. Let me check this from now.

As for the report when using AntConc 4.4.0, this is because you are trying to use old local copies of repository corpora on top of the new software, which is not compatible. All the new versions are in a new folder structure, but I realize that this can be confusing. Let me try to address both issues ASAP. In the meantime, if you want to AmE06 with AntConc 4.4.0, you can find it here:

Note that you no longer need to download one or more of the subcorpora. If you download the main corpus, you can then quickly select sub-corpora in the main AntConc interface as below:

I really should do a proper announcement of AntConc 4.4, because it actually a quite major update with a completely redesigned Corpus Manager, and new local AI model manager, and lots of new features, like the ability to easily generate key-clusters, key-n-grams, key-collocates, and of course, key-words.

Dear Prof. Anthony,

I am currently using AntConc version 4.3.1 and attempting to access the AmE06 corpus through the Corpus Manager online corpus repository as well. However, the following error message repeatedly appears during the download process:

I have also verified my internet connection and restarted the program several times; nevertheless, the issue continues to occur. In addition, several other users around me appear to be experiencing the same problem.

I would therefore like to inquire whether the AmE06 online corpus repository is currently functioning properly, or whether there may be an alternative method for accessing or downloading the corpus.

Although I am aware that version 4.4.0 of AntConc has been released, I would prefer to continue using version 4.3.1 if possible.

It seems that there was an odd problem with my hosting server. It seems to be fixed now. Can you try downloading the corpus again now?
