Antconc crashes when file loaded

Hello everyone,
I'm wondering whether anyone has encountered this problem, and whether anyone has a solution. 
One of my students is unable to load any file into Antconc without it crashing immediately. She's using a Macbook Pro with OS 12 (Monterey), and can use Wordprofiler, TagAnt and Antgram without issue. She's tried .txt files, pdfs and word files. She's also tried some of my own .txt files which can be imported  without problem to my computer, also a Macbook Pro. (Mine is OS 13, but I remember using ANt conc without problem in previous years. )
The student has tried uninstalling and re-downloading the antconc software from the antconc site. She says she has no issues with any other software. We are at a loss to see where the problem might be. It looks as though it's to with the student's computer itself, since all other factors seem OK, but we can't see what the problem could be. 

Anyone have any ideas?

I've just found some previous queries sikilar to this. (Sorry I didn't see them earlier). I'm checking with the student to see 1) whether she installed by dragging the dmg file to applications, and 2) whether she can load one of the database files that come with antconc. I'll get back here when I find out.

Hi Michael,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I recommend you try those two things first. In almost every case of files crashing the program that I've seen to date, it has been a problem of how the software was installed (incorrectly) on a Mac.

That's useful to know. Sorry I didn't check carefully enough in the first place. I'll let you know when I hear back from the student.

just to update. 
The student seems to have been using an old version. She was able to install the latest version without problem.
