I'm considering getting a new phone and before I do I want to make sure I can still run anMoney.

Is anyone running Android 9 Pie and if so have you run into any problems with anMoney ?

Thanks

Hello Gary,

anMoney works on Android 9 with some exceptions:

- Long Press on transaction and selecting "Go to" causes crash of application
- Long Press on transaction and selecting "Make recurring" causes crash of application

That is all I have found so far.

I am planning upgrade to Android Q beta, so I am wondering what else will stop working there.

Hello Gary,

I am having the same two issues as Petr on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Am living with these, but who knows what might happen on further Android upgrades.

I have purchased the full Bluecoins, and I'm preparing to run ANM & Bluecoins in parallel once I've successfully imported data from ANM and Bluecoins is proven to run the imported data and further transactions.
There will come a time when ANM fails, typically when android goes 64-bit.
Im not waiting around to wake up one day and it's stopped working. One or two of the libraries have onviously ceased to work correctly, while many are now unsupported.
ANM is too critical for me to just wait for a failure. Its a pity that people seem to favour lots of colours and graphics, when ANM just did the number crunching in a very efficient way.
I know we all use ANM in a slightly different way, but the widgets are my favourite, and consistently give an immediate status of several accounts when configured and lined up in one single window pane.
No one seems to have taken this simple concept and re-written it top-down. I'm sure there's money to be made at this if a skilled development team rewrote it.

Hello Mark,

I've looked at Bluecoins and was interested. I tried to import my anMoney data to it and failed miserably several time.

Can you please explain how you managed to get your anMoney data into Bluecoins ?

I have about 5 years of data and 25 accounts in my anMoney data.

Thanks

I haven't done aive import, just an experimental one, with some success. My problem was getting categories and subcategories across correctly.
There a tree specific instructions for data import which I haven't tried yet, but will be trying again when I find the link to the field names

Thanks Mark,

I had seen this before but was hoping someone had had some success by using a qif file. I'll have to dig into this deeper and see what I can do. With as much data as I have and the somewhat seemingly complicated importation instructions for Bluecoins I'm a bit hesitant. I've also got many split transactions so I don't know how that will work.

I have many accounts and use 5 currencies on occasion. I've also got many categories and sub categories so what ever I move to will be no doubt be a challenge.

Is there anyone that has moved to another program and had easy import success to the new program ?

Thanks again...

Gary
I tried that and I'm using 3 apps ( AnMoney, Bluecoins, and Expense IQ ). Both new have issues I did not managed to resolve.
Transfers in Bluecoins, you have to treat separately in an account, otherwise it will not work ( if you have it in any split transaction, i.e)
With Expense, you can't use the recurrent payment, unless it never changes the valour, otherwise for example in one month of a recurring payment it was 100, the second one 103. The app changes the first payment to be like the second one. So it only works, for date and values that never change.
Hopefully AnMoney continues to work well, only problem is when you use "go to" in one account to another.

Thanks Octavio,

Did you have problems when importing anMoney data into Expense IQ ?

Do you have a large database and several accounts ?

Thanks

Yes Gary, I did have some issues when importing to Expense IQ. It seems that the transfers are not recognized by the transfered account.
As I have a lot of data in AnMoney, I only export/import the ones I use much, just to experiment the app. It has been 4 months now, and I'm still not confident about it.
