Hello there

I have an issue with the way AnkiDroid handles the interval of the 'Hard' button in the learning stage. In Anki Desktop, it repeats the previous delay. In AnkiDroid, it seems to use an average of current and previous delay.

For example, I use these learning steps:
1m 10m 4h 20h
When I'm at the 20h step, Anki Desktop offers a Hard interval of 4h. (This is what I'm used to and what works great for me.) However, AnkiDroid offers a Hard interval of 12h = (20+4)/2

Is there a setting where I can switch the Hard interval to the way Anki Desktop uses it? If not, then I would like to kindly request that to be added as a setting.

I suggest you skip fiddling with settings in the current version if you are seeing a fine difference between 2.16.5 and Anki Desktop and go right to a test of the parallel install of the 2.17alphas: https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/releases

In 2.16.5 you can go into advanced settings and turn on the new backend / v3 scheduler which switches from the port of the python scheduler we've always used in AnkiDroid to a direct re-use via some re-packaging of the Anki Desktop code so it has perfect fidelity. But 2.16.5 contains an older version of the desktop code, and with 23.10 out on Desktop with fancy FSRS scheduling, and then 23.12 out with fixes for the FSRS scheduling you'll want the most up to date AnkiDroid you can get:

https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/releases

The latest alpha includes desktop 23.12.1 scheduling code direct, so there will be no differences between the platforms

Oh nice! I wasn't aware of the newest versions and those changes yet, so thank you very much for pointing that out!

Cheers
